nano concept capsule

Novel Title: Waiting for the King

Estimated length: 65k

Your writing experience:poems shortstories one year of nanowrimo, many rps both as player and designer, and big black trunk full of unfinished projects

Your genre:fantasy\sci-fi

New genre? no

Or old favorite? fantasy

Other genres for your novel: romantic comedy?

Gonna publish?: who knows

Cliches/archetypes you're including (not necessarily a bad thing!): assumed identity of person of another gender

Cliches/archetypes you're avoiding: stereotypical villains the bad guys are more or less ordinary sorts of people

Theme(s)/Issue(s) discussed: integrity, sexuality, reverse gender roles, cross dressing, politics, arranged marriages, and more I'm sure

What we (the readers) will learn: hopefully that love is something that can transcend one's physical form and that we're all human, there is a virtue in being flawed and humble. (lord I sound lofty)

Main character(s): Dana

Secondary characters: a dead prince, a general, a promised bride, an abused run away

Protagonist(s): MC and promised bride

Antagonist(s):dead prince, several court ministers, run away's father

What does your protagonist(s) or main character(s) want most in the world?:to be accepted as they really are

Setting:The nation of Angra-Chelllio primarily it's royal palace and courts

Is the setting static or does it shift: static

Based on a place/culture/real-world environment?: Is a place/culture/real-world environment? (Which): uhm no this is all made up

Main Conflict:a woman from another world has to pass herself off as a king with an already established reputation

Sub Conflicts: romance, gender benders, intrigue

Obstacles in the journey:socially accepted behavior and the assigned roles expected of the characters, internalmoral dilemas, and a handfullof folks just out to stir up trouble.

Expected resolution(s): some people get a happy ending and some sacrifice themselves in order to insure the happy ending of others, though the badguys don't prevail, things sort of wind up in a stalemate....

Summary of plot: A woman thrust into a strange new world and strange new role strugles to fit in as a newly corronated monarch and assume his identity in order to keep a nation from being plunged into civil war. When she agrees she has nothing to lose, and nothing to live for. She lives with dual identities durig the chronicle struggleing to not let anyone catch on to the fact she is two people. In the process she finds purpose and convictions again, as well as love, though the journey is twisty and full of surprises even for her. She makes many self discoveries and has to learn to live with the person she becomes. She must also decide if her charade as King, is moral or something she can't live with doing.

Tagline (a one-sentence slogan that sums up the tone and premise of your novel): Love isn't only gender deep...
